[Before he'd even started his shift, Noiz had snuck up into one of the spare rooms and deposited his recent 'gift' from the Twelve. He'd only received it a couple of hours before heading to Sindrian Nights - not enough to time to load it up and see just what his new laptop was capable of doing. He was under no delusions - it wouldn't be as powerful as his all mate, or any of the set ups he had back home but... it was probably better than nothing.
So when his shift had finally ended, he'd gone straight upstairs with plans to take over the room for the night and just take the machine for a test drive. He'd left some drink and snacks in the room as well - the less reasons he had to leave the room before his shift the next day, the less likely he was to be disturbed. Priorities.
Flopping down onto the bed, Noiz tugged the rectangular machine out from where he'd stashed it, and flipped it open. As a brief afterthought, he connected the charger up, before hitting the on switch. Time to see how much - or how little - this thing could do.]

No, you can’t make him put it down. He’s just going to stand awkwardly in the doorway with his cleaning instruments. If he stands there long enough, perhaps Noiz will give and cleaning can be accomplished.
He had other work to be done, but this was his break and he had wanted to spend it being productive.
Cleaning.
However, he supposes he can spare a few moments to learn about a new object. As Noiz had deduced, Ja’far’s world was far different. Unlike Zodion and the worlds of the future, people had turned away from magic and progressed with technology. They were similar, but different in that technology could be used by everyone and anyone. Magic, on the other hand, was limited to those with the ability to harness magoi. ]
This is the first time I have heard of it. What does it do?
[ Or is it just made to provide strange, glowing lights? ]

... Doesn't surprise me.
[He tilts the laptop very slightly, a little more towards Ja'far.]
It's a computer. It's used for loads of things... more convenient than a desk top, but less powerful. Guess this is the best I'll get here.

But he keeps those thoughts to himself as he approaches, peering closer at the screen. ]
Desk top? So it is a type of furniture that you can write on? How is it more convenient?
SCREAMS AND RUNS IN VERY LATE
... No, it's a computer. You can do a lot of things on it... or you could back home. Shopping, writing, coding, gaming, emailing... most of it's not available here, but the basics are.
Ahhhsdf
Coding? Gaming and e-mailing are unfamiliar to me as well...[ Are you sure you're not just making these things up? "Gaming"? It sounds like it could mean "playing games" but why doesn't he just say so??]
oh my god i'm here
... Right. You're from... desert land. It's computer talk. I could describe it but.
[He just gives Ja'far a pointed look.]
It could take a while.
are you really??
Then, I suppose I'd rather not. [ He doesn't have that much time to spare. He's already using what free time he has to clean. Well, he would be cleaning if Noiz wasn't in his way. Instead, he shuffles around to do some light dusting of the surrounding furniture. ]
There is little chance I'll find myself using one and I'm not certain I would benefit from using one.
shh shh.... only tags now.... /looms over your shoulder
[He leans back a little, squinting at Ja'far over the glow from his laptop screen.]
Not into expanding your knowledge or any of that crap?
guh...not while i'm playing dmmd
[ He wrinkles his nose.
He doesn't like your tone. ]
I am always looking to expand my knowledge, but only if there are foreseeable benefits.
